Berkeley Springs State Park

Berkeley Springs State Park features wonderful warm mineral springs, flowing at a rate of 2,000 gallons per minute. Berkeley Springs was first established as Bath, in 1776, and was regularly visited by George Washington. Washington helped establish the springs as a health spa, when he and four other signers of the Constitution purchased land near the springs.

Today's visitors soak in the warm springs in the 750-gallon ceramic, walk-in, Roman Bath. The tub is perfect for lounging, floating and relaxing. The 150-gallon whirlpool Jacuzzi tub, saunas and Swedish-style massages are also very relaxing. While traveling in northern West Virginia, rest comfortably with Best Western hotels.

Capacon Resort State Park

Capacon Resort State Park is a beautiful park spanning more than 6,000 acres, near Berkeley Springs. The park is named after the adjacent Capacon Mountain, the highest point in north east West Virginia, at an elevation of 2,300 feet. The Capacon River winds along the western edge of the mountain. Bring along your hiking shoes for trekking through the twenty miles of maintained trails or try your hand at trap shooting in the park's shooting range.

Spend the day at Capacon Lake in a row boat, paddle boat, at the swimming beach or fishing. Guided horseback rides are also available. Harper’s Ferry National Historical Park

Harper’s Ferry National Historical Park is located near Berkeley Springs in northern West Virginia. The park has preserved the historical community of Harpers Ferry. It was declared a National Historical Park in 1963, after first becoming a National Monument in 1944. This quaint 19th century village is located where the Shenandoah River meets the Potomac River.

Harper's Ferry was the site of John Brown's abolitionist movement in 1859. Several restored 19th Century buildings now house historical museums, including the Black Voices Museum, the Civil War Museum and the John Brown Museum.
