Marshall University

Marshall University is located along the shore of the Ohio River in Huntington, near Barboursville. The University was founded in 1837 as Marshall Academy and named for John Marshall, the 4th Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. The 14,000 students pursue undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in fourteen colleges and schools, at this public research university.

The Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine has attained national recognition for its programs and the forensic science program is one of few accredited by the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.
